Why Start Free Jammie Forums?

Postby tereastarr on Mon Nov 05, 2007 4:16 pm

First and foremost, I would like to welcome everyone to Free Jammie forums. I have been asked numerous times why I started these forums and there are a few reasons behind this decision.

If anyone has read any news article concerning my case, you'll find many, many comments from readers, both for and against what I'm doing. There is a large debate going on right now concerning all aspects of my case, with many people voicing strong opinions. I decided instead of people voicing their opinions only when a story is printed, they should have the opportunity to actively debate this in a setting where everyone is welcome.

I will not discriminate against anyone here. If you want to argue your point, even if I don't agree, I welcome you here to debate your opinion. I have implemented a set of rules I will strictly enforce against everyone, so you should feel secure knowing that even if we disagree, I will agree to disagree with you in a calm and civil manner.

Another reason I started these forums is to give everyone an opportunity to ask me questions they've wanted answered. There is so much incorrect information in the media right now concerning my case and I felt instead of trying to change all the reporters skewed version of things, I would implement a forum where I will openly and honestly answer what happened, how it happened, who was involved, etc. etc.

The last reason I'm doing this is the awareness aspect. If you feel something is wrong, the easiest way to bring about change is to make as many people aware of the problem as possible. These suits brought by the RIAA against everyday people are wrong in so many aspects, I don't have enough space or time to list all the reasons why it's wrong. So, I leave this space for you, the everyday people being targeted by the RIAA to voice your own opinions about this subject.

Be fair, be nice, be civil, be firm.

Minor changes

Postby tereastarr on Thu Nov 15, 2007 5:10 pm

I have made some minor changes to the forums. First and foremost, people no longer need administrator permission for an account, only a valid email address to verify the account. I hope this helps some who were hesitant about signing up with the forums. I will remind everyone, please read the rules before you post anything.
